5 games

Game 1
     My first game idea would be a to mine coal. This would be in the engineering category. I think this because it requires engineering to make your mine and to run your equipment. This game would fall in to the civics and the news category. I think that it would be in the news because every day you hear about someone complaining about mountain top removal. Even the president has been on the news talking about coal.

Game 2
     My second game idea would also be in the news and civics category. The game would be to fix oil leaks in the Gulf of Mexico. I think that this game would be in STEM in the engineering category. The player would have to make ways to fix the oil leak. Then after the palyer made his prototype for fixing the spill, they would get to go test it. If their idea was a success, then they win the game. If not, they have to go back to the design mode and make another. It would be in the news because everyone has heard about the BP oil leak in the Gulf over the summer. It was also a civic issue.

Game 3
     My third game idea would be in the nature category. This game would also be science. The player would have to find endangered animals and learn about them more and try to keep them from becoming extinct. They could do this in many ways. One would be to stop hunting of this animal. Another would be to make a zoo or some other place where the animals were portected. Then, when the animals became back to their stable population, they could be relseased or hunters could hunt them again. This game would be in science because the study of animals is ecology. Ecology is one of the many branches of science that as person could explore. It would be in nature becuase animals are part of nature.

Game 4
     My fourth game would be a strategy game about a community trying to survive. People in this community would have to build their houses. They would also have to build any other things they needed to survive. The homes and buildings would have to survive the weather and other things in the enviroment. This would be engineering. Also, the people would have to have animals and plants for food. The crops could die causing the civilization to fail. The citizens of the community would have to all come together to survive. I think that this game would also teach citizenship because without this quality people could not survive.

Game 5
     My last game would be in the news and science category. I would make a game about stopping terrorists from getting on a plane. The player of the game would have to use science to create new tecnologies to find explosives and guns. After the new devices were created, they could test them b yallowing or not allowing people to get on planes. If the wrong person got on, the plane would get blown up and everyone would die. If the right people got on, nothing bad would happen. With the invention of this new tecnology they could make the airlines safer. This issue is big on the news today. The TSA checks are concerning people with one of their own new tecnologies, the body scanners.

     These are my five games that are STEM and in the civics, news, citizenship, literacy, and nature. I hope you enjoy them.

Paper Prototyping

     This has really helped us with our game. We have changed the game idea fron the original and I think its better. I'm staying hopeful that all of our ideas will work in flash and maybe win the contest.
